Empowering Connections: Access, Inclusion and Rights
This sub-theme aims to subsume issues of access to the internet, digital rights, accessibility, digital empowerment, and inclusive development in the digital economy. The topics that can be suggested under this sub-theme may include:
Access and Affordability: Strategies for expanding internet infrastructure and lowering costs, including the role of public Wi-Fi.
Inclusion and Empowerment: Ensuring accessibility for all demographics and facilitating digital literacy programs.
Protecting Digital Rights: Discussions on internet shutdowns, freedom of speech, content moderation for safe, inclusive online spaces and other rights-based approaches to internet governance issues.
Multilingual Internet including aspects of Universal Acceptance (UA) and Email Address Internationalization (EAI), also in specific context of IDNs, and new gTLDs.
Empowering Stakeholders for Effective Multistakeholderism: This is specifically to involve stakeholders that are usually absent or excluded from the internet governance discourse in India. Specific focus on the technical community, and their engagement in governance discussions, apart from engagement of marginalised stakeholders. Also, can include topics on creating processes and institutions for better multistakeholder practice, strengthening multistakeholder practices in global policy making to include diverse voices into the discussions.
